Global Threats

Some supervillains are content with crime or terrorism. Others operate on a much grander scale. The following individuals represent foes whose ambitions include global domination or destruction.


Atomicus
The villain known as Atomicus was once a German nuclear physicist and occultist named Robert Böse. Böse was a researcher working on an atomic bomb for the Third Reich. In addition, he was a member of the occult Thule society. Many of Böse's experiments involved the combination of quantum mechanics and thaumaturgy. One such experiment went horribly awry, resulting in an explosion that killed his entire staff. Only Böse survived, after a fashion. His body had become completely converted into a kind of radioactive energy state. He could only exist within the confines of his special containment suit. In time, he learned that could control atomic forces, direct beams and blasts of radioactive particles from his hands and eyes, and could gain more power by absorbing radiation into his suit. He also created newer more durable containment suits, eventually resulting in a suit resembling a robotic shell.

Atomicus spent several decades keeping a low profile, quietly and secretly building an army of mercenaries and followers in his remote south Pacific island base. He rose to prominence only a few years ago when he emerged from hiding to threaten to destroy Pacific City, USA, if his demands for global domination were not met. His plan was thwarted by Captain Freedom but in the process the brave hero gave his own life to protect an innocent bystander.

Since then, Atomicus' plans for global dominance have been thwarted by the forces of AEGIS and the DEFENDERS. Each time his plans become more audacious and more ambitious. It is feared that it is only a matter of time before Atomicus succeeds in establishing a new world order of his own design.

Xiuhcoatl 
Victor Munoz, hoping to gain the power and favor of the Aztec fire demon Xiuhcoatl, attempted to sacrifice his niece and nephew during a solar eclipse. The plan backfired. The Aztec god Ometecuhtli saved the children, and instead of gaining power, Victor became possessed by the evil Xiuhcoatl.
Now Victor seeks revenge against his niece and nephew while Xiuhcoatl seeks to conquer the world.
