Professor Stewart's dream was to open a theme park in Northern Canada where people would come to view extinct Ice Age mammals brought back to life. He invested his entire fortune into making it happen. He was also fanatically jealously guarded his patents, work, and privacy. He created the entire park in secret and even kept its location secret after it opened in order to prevent genetic poachers looking for tissue samples of his work. Guests were to be flown in via windowless aircraft.
Unfortunately, no one other than a few scientists were willing to travel to the far north to see what amounted to a zoo, and the scientific community decried his efforts as unethical, not to mention scoffed at his secretive genetic science as unreproducible, unverifiable, and probably faked, and boycotted his park. Pleistocene Park soon went out of business. Professor Stewart then turned his genetic talents into modifying his creations into giant humanoid monsters which he uses to commit crimes in order to fund a) his park and b) more research.
